Shure SE 215 Review

I remember the days of sinking into stock earphones received when purchasing a music player or a cellphone. I never really understood the essence of great sound then, and honestly did not even bother looking into investing in a pair. After using the in- ear monitors for about two years now, I have come to realise the vast difference a pair of In-ears do to your music experience. In this review, a detailed analysis of the specs will be given, along with the price that they sell for and finally, if they are worth it.

- Detachable cables with formable wire

- Sensitivity = 107 dB SPL/mW

- lmpedance = 17 Ω

Experience

After using the earphones for some time, I have come to realise that there is a MASSIVE difference in using a pair of In-ear monitors. Not only is it comfortable for the ears( for most people) but actually is effective in protecting the ear-drums due to the fact that you no longer have to play music at its loudest to experience a hinge of bass in your ears. The lows and mids are exceptional for the price. It may seem pricy at first, but after a few days, maybe weeks of using these gems, you'd begin to ask yourself why you hadn't invested in these a lifetime ago. It is obvious, however, that the more you may for a pair, the better your sound quality and musical experience. One of my absolute buying points for these earphones was the fact that I could finally fall asleep whilst listening to music and not have something almost rip my ears off. They snuggle into my ear canal and ensure that the sound quality is not compromised. Best of all, the noise cancellation and sound isolation of these earphones make me want to lose my mind. Theres nothing better than not being able to hear loud crowds and taxi hooters whilst listening to the best part of your song and only hearing the person next to you sniff for glory.

I had fallen into an issue after the 3.5mm headphone part had been damaged and thought my life would be over. Thankfully, Shure had come to the rescue by innovating the detachable cable so that you no longer have to purchase a whole new set of earphones when the cable is the issue. Replacing the cable is way easier than making noodles and takes less than half the time!!! I'd definitely recommend saving for a few more months to purchase a pair of these.

Pricing and where to find

Because we are South Africans, everything is probably more expensive than other countries. I had a brief search online and found that if you are willing to wait patiently for the delivery of the earphones ( about a month or so) then the best price I found on Ebay was approximately R1300 or so. If you want them as in yesterday, then you may go to most music stores in South Africa but do not expect to pay anything less than R1800.

Hope you enjoyed this review and be ready for the upcoming reviews!!! Keep teching!!!
